Introduction SYLLABUS MODEL QUESTION PAPER WITH ANSWERS
Purpose:
The Regional Recruitment Boards of State Bank of India, for recruitment of clerks in SBI and its associate banks, hold clerical cadre examination. Similar competitive exam is held by the 15 Banking Services Recruitment Board (BSRB) from time to time for recruitment in the nationalized banks.
Eligibility:
Applicant must be in the age group of 18-26 years, with a degree or 10+2 (50% marks) or Matriculation (60% marks). For stenographers, the eligibility is a pass in matriculation. Besides the applicants for the post of Typists should have proficiency in typing with speed of 25 w.p.m. in Hindi or 30 w.p.m. in English. Stenos should in addition also possess proficiency in shorthand with speed of 80 w.p.m. in English and 60 w.p.m. in Hindi. Relaxation in age and qualification is admissible to various categories as per rules.
Pattern:
The examination will be objective type as well as descriptive type. The objective type test will cover question on reasoning ability, clerical aptitude, numerical aptitude and English language. The descriptive type paper will comprise four questions on short essay or comprehension. Stenos and Typists would have to take the skill test separately. Those who qualify the written test are called for interview.

Purpose:
The Banking Service Recruitment Boards recruit Probationary Officers for nationalized banks. The respective regional office of the BSRB carries out, the recruitment region-wise. However after reaching a certain level in the management cadre, officers are transferable all over India.
Eligibility:
Graduates in any discipline, in the age group of 21-28 years are eligible to take the exam. Details’ regarding age relaxation etc is available in the advertisement, brought by the various regional offices of BSRB from time to time.
Pattern:
The selection comprises of a written test and then an interview for those who qualify in the written exam. The written exam has an objective portion and a descriptive portion. The objective portion contains questions on Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, English and General Awareness. The descriptive part contains four questions on a typical situation and the candidate is expected to comprehend, analyze and then express his view on it, either in Hindi or English. Those who qualify in the written test are called for an interview. The interview aims at assessing intelligence, leadership qualities, and decision-making capacity of the candidates.
