Description:
Ship Brokers are employed by shipping agencies or act
as agents or even set up their own agencies. They match empty ships with the
cargoes and bargain on behalf of their clients. In shipping parlance this kind
of dealing is called ‘tramp trading’. They also function as agents and provide
services in getting clearances and documentation.
Educational
Qualification:
Graduates
preferably with membership of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS).
Opening:
With the
ever–increasing volumes in International Trade, there is no dearth of
opportunities in the Shipping Industry within the country as well as abroad.
There are hundreds of shipping companies in all the major trading centres of
the country as well as abroad. Government organisations such as the Shipping
Corporation of India also provide job opportunities in this area.
Remuneration:
Starting salary
is Rs. 5,500 per month (excluding other allowances)
