Job
Description:
The producer
heads the production team and produces programs. He conceptualises an idea,
formulates the program, coordinates with the scriptwriter, selects artists,
discusses the presentation with the media personnel and researchers and finally
coordinates the production. Producers generally work independently for radio,
TV, films or the government owned networks. Unlike in filmmaking the role of a producer and director are
less clearly defined in radio and television.
Educational
Qualification:
Postgraduate in
Mass communication, with specialisation in Audio-Visual Communication is
desirable though not essential. Also refer to `introduction’ to Radio and
Television Broadcasting.
