Job Description:

Provost Officer: A separate cadre of Provost Officers exists to deal with Policing, Regulatory, Security and Vigilance needs of the Navy.

 

How to Join:

A)            Cadet Entry (NDA)

(i)      Type of Entry                       -    National Defence Academy (NDA)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule            -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                     -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

 

B)            Graduate Entry

(i)      Type of Entry                       -    National Defence Academy (NDA)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule            -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                     -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

        

C)            NCC Special Entry

(i)      Type of Entry                       -    National Defence Academy (NDA)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule            -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                     -    Sub Lieutenant in Navy.

 

Qualification:

A)            Cadet Entry (NDA)

(i)      Qualifications                        -    10+2 with Mathematics, Physics.

(ii)      Age                                    -    16½ to 19 years.

 

B)            Graduate Entry

(i)      Qualifications                        -    B.Sc. (Physics and Mathematics) or B.E.

(ii)      Age                                    -    19 to 22 years.

 

C)            NCC Special Entry

(i)      Qualifications                        -    B.SC. (Physics and Mathematics) or B.E. with Naval Wing Senior Division NCC ‘C’ Certificate.

(ii)      Age                                    -    19 to 24 years.

Remuneration:

Starting Salary Rs. 8,250, which reaches Rs. 10,050 within 6/7 years of service. (excluding other allowances).
