Education Officers

 

 

 

Job Description:

Education Officers play a very major role in the total training of a Naval Officer/ Sailor to keep them abreast with the Modern Technology. They are responsible for Scientific and Methodical instructions including Theoretical aspects of Technical subjects of all branches of the Navy and for Oceanography and Meteorology.

 

How To Join:

A)             Graduate Entry

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    Graduate Entry (CDSE).

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Through Combined Defence Services Examination  (CDSE) and getting through Naval Selection Board.

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                      -    Lieutenant.

 

B)             Short Service Commission (SSC)

(i)       Type of Entry                         -    SSC (Post Graduate Entry)

(ii)      Mode of selection                   -    Direct SSB Interview

(iii)     Advertisement Schedule           -    Advertised in all National Leading Newspapers/Employment News in Apr/May and Sep/Oct every year.

(iv)     Status Awarded                      -    Lieutenant.

 

Qualification:

A)             Graduate Entry

(i)       Qualifications                         -    A Master’s Degree in one of the following with atleast 55% marks:-

(a)                      Physics (with Maths in B.Sc.) or

(b)                     Maths (with Physics in B.Sc.) or

(c)                      Chemistry (with Physics & Maths in B.Sc.) or

(d)                     Computer Application/Computer Science (with either Physics or Maths at Graduation level) or

(e)                      Humanities (English/Economics/History/Political Science) or

(f)                       An Engineering Defence in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Computer Science/ Technical.

(ii)      Age                                      -    21 to 25 years

 

B)             Short Service Commission (SSC)

(i)       Qualifications                         -    A Master’s Degree in one of the following with atleast 55% marks:

(a)      Physics (with Maths in B.Sc.) or

(b)            Maths (with Physics in B.Sc.) or

Note:-    Short Service Commission is also applicable for women candidates and length of service is upto 7 years which is extendable up to 10 years.

Remuneration:

Starting Salary Rs. 8,250, which reaches Rs. 10,050 within 6/7 years of service. (excluding other allowances).
