Description:
Dentists
provide surgical, medical and other forms of treatment for oral and dental
disorders and diseases. This may include filling, crowning and scaling of teeth
and fitting artificial replacements where necessary and surgically handling
injuries or other irregularities of the teeth and jaw. Dentistry has many areas
of specialisation, i.e., Orthodontics, Peritonitis, Operative Dentistry,
Prosthodontics, Oral Surgery, and Oral Pathology.
Educational
Qualification:
B.D.S.
(Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery) and M.D.S. (Master’s in Dental Surgery).

prospects for Dentists exist in various hospitals, clinics and health
departments as also in medical institutes as teachers. Private practice is also
an attractive career choice, however it requires substantial capital outlay for
infrastructure, equipment etc.
