Nursing Officer
Job Description:
The
Army Medical Corps together with Army Dental Corps provide a composite,
wide-spectrum, morale boosting and pride of place in protocol to the young and
ambitious women to serve with the Army. Nursing Officers take care of patients
whilst helping to manage a ward. They
nurse service personnel and their families. Their duties are manifold and cover
a wide range of functions and responsibilities that varies with the levels of
qualification and the working environment. Initial level nurses are required
for the bedside care of general patients, while, at senior level, they are
required to manage whole groups of people. Specialized skills are required to
manage psychiatric, pediatric, intensive care patients. However, they are
involved in dispensing medication, keeping records, such as hourly temperature
of a patient, setting up and operating medical equipment, from syringes to
drips to life support systems, administration, which includes keeping stock of
drug and equipments. They are commissioned in Military Nursing Services as
Lieutenant and reaches up to the rank of Brigadier.
How to join:
(i) Type of Entry - Normal
Recruitment through Army Headquarters
(ii) Mode of Selection - Written
test and interview conducted by Army Headquarters. Selection is based on merit
list. Total 140 students selected per year.
(iii) Advertisement Schedule - Advertised
in Leading National Dailies in the months of Dec/Jan and Sept/Oct every year.
(iv) Status Awarded - Lieutenant
in Military Nursing Services.
Qualification:
(i) Academics - 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
(minimum 60% Aggregate marks).
(ii) Age - Between 16 and 24 years.
Note: 1. Divorced women/widows (issueless) are also
considered but should be within specified age limit.

Remuneration:
Starting
salary is Rs. 8,250 (excluding other allowances), which reaches an amount of
Rs. 10,050 within 6/7 years.
