Description:
Land
Surveyors have a well–defined area of work. They ascertain the official land
and write descriptions of land for deeds, leases, and other legal documents and
measure construction and mineral sites. The most needed survey activity is in
the area of valuation and quantity survey. Surveyors working in these areas
require knowledge of the construction industry, construction management, civil
engineering, construction and arbitration laws, tendering procedures and
contractual agreements.
Educational
Qualification:
The
Institute of Surveyors at New Delhi turns out qualified surveyors. Entry to the
training program is flexible. There are the first, intermediate and final level
examinations. After 10+2 (PCM) students can enter at the first level
examination, diploma holders in civil engineering can enrol at the intermediate
level and B.Arch/BE (Civil) entitles the candidate to enrol for the final exam.
Opening:
Career
openings are available in public and private sector construction organizations,
Insurance companies, planning and development authorities, housing boards etc.
Remuneration:
Starting salary
is Rs. 5,500 per month (excluding other allowances)
