Job Description:
Meteorology Officers undertakes day-to-day scientific work
in the Air Force to forecast the prevailing weather conditions in the area of
operation by using latest sate-of-the art technology. All Air Force operations
and planning are mainly depend on the accurate weather forecasting.

through Air Force Selection Board (AFSB).

Qualification:
Academics - M.Sc. 50% and above
(Physics/
Applied Physics/
Meteorology/
Geophysics/
Oceanography/
Oceanography with
specialization in
Meteorology/M.A./
M.Sc in Mathematics
Or Applied Mathematics/
M. Tech. in Atmospheric
Science from IIT Delhi)
Age - 20 to 25 years

Remuneration:
Starting salary is Rs. 8,250, which reaches Rs. 10,050
within 6/7 years.
Note: Short Service Commission for Women is open
since 1992. The Women are also inducted as Meteorology Officer in the Air
Force. All other qualifications and eligibility conditions remain the same
except; they must be unmarried. Length of Short Service Commission is up to 7
years and extendable up to 10 years.
