Pharmacy

Pharmacy is the study of the origin and chemistry of drugs, procedures for their development, their preparation, their effects and their eventual use for prevention and treatment of diseases in living beings. Dispensing and counselling skills, as well as pharmacy law and ethics, form an important part of the profession. Growing complexity of drug therapy with its potential side effects along with dangers of drug abuse has brought into the focus the need of pharmacists' special skills to maintain a rational approach in the realm of drug treatments. This along with the massive growth in the pharmaceutical industry has created increasing demand for trained pharmacists.

Educational Qualification:

Students with 10+2 in science are eligible for the two-year diploma in pharmacy as also for the four-year degree course i.e. B.Pharm. Admission to B.Pharm is on the basis of entrance exam. Students can further pursue M.Pharm and Ph.D.
