Geology / Geophysics

Geology is a science that studies the earth’s history, composition and structure. The study of geology encompasses study of minerals, fossils, rocks, history of earth’s crust and its various landforms. Most geologists work or supervise exploration work at a variety of sites. Their work is mainly research oriented. They collect information/samples and then analyse and identify them.

Geophysics is a closely related field of Geology. Geophysicists use the principles of physics, mathematics, and chemistry to study the Earth’s surface, its internal composition and its magnetic, electrical, and gravitational forces.
