Dentistry

 

Dentistry is concerned with all the health problems afflicting the mouth and teeth. Dental surgeons give surgical and medical treatment for dental and oral disorders and diseases by examining teeth and mouth of the patients. It also has a cosmetic aspect and people, especially in professions like movies or television, to enhance their looks, get their teeth and jaws aligned. It has become a very lucrative profession with the increasing awareness of oral hygiene as well as looks.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates having passed 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology are eligible for admission in the Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS) Course. The course is of four-year duration followed by one year of internship. The all India entrance exam conducted by the CBSE is common for both the MBBS and the BDS courses. The allocation of institutions is based on merit.
